So, welcome to the new page of my site!
Those of you who have been hanging around my blog for a little while may have noticed that I've done a bit of changing up and moving around.
Basically, I've separated everything into three pages.
I have a page for my writing, where I'll muse about life and generally yammer on, as I tend to do.
I have my page for my crafty bits and creating where I'll post projects and promote my design team products like I've done since my blog started and then there will be THIS PAGE, the one you're on right now - my new adventure!
What is is all about?
Well, I was recently talking with the lovely Tatum Woodroffe and I told her that I'd love to do some style blogging.
You see, I love style blogs.
I read them daily.
I love Lady Melbourne, I love fifluxe, I love Girl with a Satchel.
I love reading about fashion.
But I find that there is something I don't get from any style blog I read.
None of the girls on them dress like me and the people I know.
Rarely do they dress like people I see on the street.
I have so many friends with amazing personal style (Tatum herself is one of them!) and I see so many stylish people around me;
I do regular double takes at someone or other's jacket or shoes or necklace in the street
I love a bit of high street shopping as much as the next girl, but the fact is that we can't all afford vintage Chanel, we don't all get given Miu Miu shoes to review, the bulk of us just have to make do with a limited shopping budget and what the good lord gave us.
THOSE are the girls that I'm interested in.
The girls who just simply have style, no matter the brand name or the event, no matter their waist measurement or budget.
They've got it going on and they know what works for them.
So with a bit of encouragement, this page was born, to talk about and share the style that those women possess!
So, who do I think I am to start a style blog?
Well nobody really.
This is me.
If you don't care so much about credentials, then I'm just a 27 year old Melbourne girl who loves clothes; actually 'loves outfits' is probably closer to the point.
I love the feeling of looking in the mirror and knowing everything just clicks - for work, for a party, for anything really.
When an outfit works, I feel like I've accomplished something.
And if you DO want credentials I have a Bachelors degree in Journalism and a half finished Masters degree in Fashion & Textile design.
I'm a self confessed shopaholic, and heaven knows I've made some shocking buys in my time.
It's all one big learning curve right?
I'm no authority on style, in fact some days my favourite item of clothing is an oversized blue Dumbo the Elephant T-Shirt I bought a Giordano for $10 about 8 years ago when my singlet strap broke at Chadstone and I needed an emergency fix, but I'm an aesthetic person and I know what I like, I know when I see it, and I hope you like what I see too (or at the very least leave me a contructive comment telling me why you dont)!
So starting from next week, I hope you drop in and share my love of fashion and style, meet some of my very stylish friends and nut out is rocking their look in the streets of Melbourne.
